Ella Sevskaya was born in the Ukraine in 1961. She
studied with Elena Kamenkovich, Regina Horowitz in Kharkov (Ukraine) and
Nathan Perelman in St Petersburg (Leningrad).
Ella then turned her attention to early music, and
played continuo with various ensembles (Musica Practica, Ars Consoni, New
Holland). In 1994 she moved to Munich to study the harpsichord, fortepiano
and early organ.
From Perelman she inherited the light touch of the older
Russian school; primarily she now plays the fortepiano, but also makes
regular appearances as a harpsichordist in Europe and the USA.
Ella Sevskaya lives in Northern Italy and teaches the
harpsichord and continuo in Rosenheim, as well as fortepiano and
lute-harpsichord at the International Summer School at Cortona in Tuscany.
Ella Sevskaya would like to thank Andrea Kiock for
generously supporting the production of this CD.
